Universal music group (UMG)

Universal music group has been producing music a wide range of music for around 100 years and comprises the largest, most diverse and culturally rich collection of music in the industry. UMG also operate an array of businesses in more than 60 countries. The Businesses work on, music recording, music publishing, merchandising and audiovisual content.

The corporate headquarters are located in Hilversum, Netherlands and the operational headquarters are located in Santa Monica, California,USA.

The history:

UMG was founded in 1962, when MCA merged with American Decca. It is one of the big three record labels, along with Sony Music and Warner Music Group. Universal owns at leat 18 large Record Labels, all of which one multiple studios themselves. They recorded 28.9% of all recored music in 2016.
